Are you considering a career in the sports industry? Are you interested in performance analysis? Are you curious about the body systems and their response to exercise? Are you motivated to explore how the mind might affect performance? If so, this course could be a great choice for you. Through this programme, students gain a valuable high order skillset ready to enter higher education, or progress directly into employment. Students will benefit from a significant amount of employer engagement as well as gaining a broad experience within the sports sector, particularly in terms of fitness testing and training, health screening and technology. Students will also complete an independent research project. To achieve the qualification students will complete various work-based projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. There are also four externally set examinations in Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology and Nutrition.
Standard Entry Requirements. Grade 5 in Science. Grade 4 GCSE English and Maths. Grade 4 GCSE P. E. or equivalent is beneficial but not essential.
In the double diploma (2 A level equivalent) students will study 8 units, three of which are externally assessed by exam. The remaining five are coursework based. In the single diploma (1 A level equivalent) students will study four units, two of which are externally assessed by exam. The remaining two are coursework based
