Course summary

History A Level consists of 3 components, a breadth study, a depth study and a historical investigation. We study The Tudors: England, 1485-1603, and look at how the nature of government changes in England over this period. We investigate how the Tudors changed the religion in England, the foreign policies towards France, Spain and Scotland and the domestic policy that each monarch employed. Next we study The American Dream: Reality and Illusion, 1945-1980. This includes how America was governed throughout this time period and the policies that each President focused on. It includes examining the impact of WWII, the lives of African-Americans and the impact of the Cold War. In our historical investigation we will study the Russian Revolution and its impact on Russia through comparison of one hundred years of Russian history.
