Course summary

A Level Drama combines particularly well with other Arts/Humanities subjects such as English Literature or Language, Film Studies or Media Studies, and allows you to develop and demonstrate confident communication skills and creativity - both highly valued by employers. This course is suitable for you if you want to complement your study of English literature and language with a practical element. You will be encouraged to develop performance skills through a range of practical, theoretical and analytical activities. You will be expected to dedicate time outside of normal hours for rehearsal. Drama and Theatre studies provides ideal preparation for a career and further study in the Arts, but can also help to demonstrate wider skills such as communication and creativity for a range of other careers and destinations; particularly those which may involve public speaking.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in academic subjects, including GCSE maths & GCSE English Language.

How you'll be assessed

This two-year course is principally assessed by written examination at the end of two years of study, but also includes Non-Exam Assessed (Coursework) Components including both written and practical tasks (performance and direction).
