Geography is a flexible subject which is especially attractive to those who want to maintain strong links with the ‘real world’ outside the classroom. It can be classified as either an arts, science or social science subject. A Level geographer have subsequently pursued many and varied careers. It combines well with almost all other courses on offer and will allow you to develop a wide variety of marketable skills sought after by employers. You will experience a variety of teaching styles including class discussion and group work. During the course you will be given the opportunity to do fieldwork and to collect and process data to develop your analytical skills.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent, including English Language or Mathematics are required to study vocational subject. Requirements are higher for A Levels and subject specific grades apply for some subjects. Entry criteria will be discussed in more detail during your Sixth Form interview.
A Level - coursework which will account for 20% of the overall grade. Examination is 80% of the final grade.
