Topics covered include The Structure and Function of Biomolecules, structure and role of DNA and RNA, genetic diseases and gene therapy, cell structure, stem cells, classification and biodiversity; forensic analysis of crime scenes, infectious diseases, DNA profiling, photosynthesis, global warming and brain structure.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grade 4 or above. In addition, grade 6 in Biology (or 6/6 in Combined Science if studied) plus grade 6 in Maths and grade 5 in English.

How you'll be assessed

Students will sit three examinations at the end of Year 13 to achieve the A level qualification.
