A-Level English Literature focuses on the study of Literary Genres and you will be studying texts around ‘Aspects of Tragedy’ and ‘Elements of Crime’. You will study six texts across prose, poetry and drama in preparation for two examinations which will be undertaken at the end of Year 13. There is also an NEA (non-examined assessment) element, consisting of two responses to any two of the schools of thought in the Critical Anthology; these pieces encourage further independence and reading. Over the course, you will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills such as: • Reading widely and independently • Engage with texts critically and creatively • Develop and apply your knowledge of literary analysis
