In Year 12 students are introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of photographic media, processes and techniques. They will explore the use of photography for different purposes, using a variety of methods and media on a variety of scales. Students will develop and apply relevant subject-specific skills to visually communicate ideas, meanings and responses. Confidence and the ability to learn independently are essential to be successful in this qualification. In Year 13 students embark on a Personal Investigation, involving in-depth exploration of a theme of their own choice. Students are required to conduct a practical investigation, into an idea, or issue, supported by written material. The investigation should be a coherent, in-depth study that demonstrates the student’s ability to construct and develop a sustained line of reasoning from an initial starting point to a final realisation.
Grade 5 or above in GCSE Art or Photography
