The course is a combination of theory, analysis, and practical application, allowing you to study a wide range of rich and stimulating media products including television, advertising, print and online media. Your investigation of these texts provides opportunities for detailed analysis of how the media communicate meanings in a variety of forms. You will apply a variety of theoretical approaches, along with a knowledge and understanding of media language in your investigation of how texts position audiences to respond in particular ways.

Assessment will be via 2 written exams and a non-exam assessment
