Research, background reading, ICT – use of internet, data response, fieldwork, post 16 conferences, outside speakers and group / individual presentations. There must be a considerable commitment to a range of study and assignments such as projects, data collection, reading journals and set tasks. Students will be expected to study independently for approximately 5 hours a week.
- For the A Level Geography course students should have obtained five GCSE passes at grade 4. This qualification is linear. Linear means that students will sit all their exams and submit all their non-exam assessment at the end of the course. - Individual subject minimum GCSE requirements (these apply in addition to our Sixth Form entry criteria of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language and Maths*)
• Three written exams totalling a time of 6 hours • 3000-4000 written investigation based on external fieldwork.
