The Extended Project Qualification can be taken as an extension of Level 3 studies. It develops and extends from one or more of students’ study areas and/or from an area of personal interest or activity outside their main programme of study. It is based on a topic chosen by the student and agreed by the center. Students will: •Choose an area of interest •Draft a title and aims of the project •Plan, research and carry out the project •Deliver a presentation to a non-specialist audience •Provide evidence of all stages of project development and production for assessment LEARNING AND SKILLS •Identify, design, plan and complete an individual project •Develop a range of organizational skills and strategies to meet planned objectives •Obtain, critically select and use information from a range of sources •Analyze data, apply it relevantly and demonstrate understanding of links, connections and complexities of the topic •Select and use a range of skills, solve problems, take decisions critically, creatively and flexibly •Evaluate outcomes both in relation to agreed objectives and own learning and performance •Select and use a range of communication skills and media to present evidence outcomes and conclusions
4 GCSEs at or above grade 6 with a 5 or above in English language and they should have completed at least 8 GCSEs 6+ in English Language or Literature
5000-words dissertation or artefact with 1000-words reports; plus Production Log, Assessment Record and Presentation Record
