A level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care allows students to develop the skills and personal qualities needed to work within the industry or to progress onto further education. The core units provide learners with the underpinning knowledge of the sectors whilst the optional selected units will provide learners with the opportunity to consider specific health and social care roles and settings.
Five GCSEs, Grades 9 – 4, including English Health and Social Care- Level 2 Merit (if studied)
This course is assessed via a combination of: o internally assessed coursework (IC) o Written exam set by the exam board (E) Learners must complete the following 5 compulsory units: Unit 1: Human Lifespan (E) Unit 2: Working in Health and Social (E) Unit 4: Enquires into Current Research in Health & Social Care Unit 5: Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (IC) Unit 8: Public Health They will then complete the following option units: Unit 7: Principals of Safe Practice in Health and Social Care Unit 14: Physiological Disorders and their Care (IC) Unit 19: Nutritional Health 30% Exam 70% Internal mandatory content
