Course summary

A Level Mathematics is the essential maths course for building on your GCSE understanding. A Level of Mathematics opens doors to rewarding careers in many disciplines and offers insight into the power and beauty of mathematics. It is a qualification that will significantly enhance your profile with future employers and University admissions tutors. Studying A Level maths also equips you with skills highly relevant to your other studies, particularly physical, biological, and social sciences. You will learn through a balance of classroom sessions and independent study. Building on your prior knowledge you will apply algebraic and graphical techniques to develop your understanding of functions, calculus, trigonometry, sequences and series, exponentials and logarithms, numerical methods, statistics, and finally, mechanics.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above including English or equivalent. Grade 6 in Maths (grade 7 recommended).
