Course summary

Engineering covers a wide range of disciplines anything from rockets to mobile phones and even hip replacements! Engineering is not just about fixing things it is about understanding how and why things work. This is a specialist qualification which can be studied as part of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) study programme to provide a progression pathway, which develops a set of specialist skills and competences required for working in the Engineering sector. You will benefit from working in a dedicated Engineering Centre equipped with the latest industry technology, purpose-built labs and an engineering workshop . You will be able to interpret and produce engineering drawings, create models of products, edit and modify these, and explore materials and their properties.

Entry requirements

For A-level programmes: 6 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (to include 3 GCSEs at grade 9-4 and 3 GCSEs at grade 9-5). Require grade 9-4 in English Language and Maths. For Engineering Level 3 (A-level equivalent): Grade 9-5 Maths; Grade 9-6 Physics and one other Science. Plus 2 other GCSEs grade 9-5
