YEAR 12/13: The Extended Project Qualification can be taken as an extension of Level 3 studies. It develops and extends from one or more of students’ study areas and/or from an area of personal interest or activity outside their main programmed of study. It is based on a topic chosen by the student and agreed by the Centre. Students will: - Choose an area of interest - Draft a title and aims of the project - Plan, research and carry out the project - Deliver a presentation to a non-specialist audience - Provide evidence of all stages of project development and production for assessment LEARNING AND SKILLS: - Identify, design, plan and complete an individual project - Develop a range of organizational skills and strategies to meet planned objectives - Obtain, critically select and use information from a range of sources - Analyze data, apply it relevantly and demonstrate understanding of links, connections and complexities of the topic - Select and use a range of skills, solve problems, take decisions critically, creatively and flexibly - Evaluate outcomes both in relation to agreed objectives and own learning and performance - Select and use a range of communication skills and media to present evidence outcomes and conclusions
6+ in English Language or Literature
5000-words dissertation or artefact with 1000-words reports; plus Production Log, Assessment Record and Presentation Record.
