This course uses a combination of assessment styles to give students confidence that they can apply their knowledge to succeed in the workplace and have the study skills to continue learning in higher education courses and throughout their careers. The range of vocational assessments – both practical and written – means students can showcase their learning and achievements to the best effect when they take their next step, whether that’s supporting applications to higher education courses or potential employers.
GCSE grade 4 in English, grade 5 in maths and two grade 5s in science
In year 12, students will be assessed on two components of the course. The first is an internally assessed assignment, the second is an externally assessed written exam. This will complete the certificate. In year 13, students will complete a science investigation skills component as well as one optional unit. This will complete the extended certificate.
