Course summary

Psychology is the scientific study of the way we think, feel and behave. Are we free to choose the type of person we want to do or is our personality and behaviour already determined? What is the right way to treat mental health issues? Are criminals born that way or are they made by society? Can we trust the results of a survey? How do we know what is true? Studying psychology will give you the skills to know why people are the way they are. Psychology can be useful for any career that involves encouraging behaviour in other people, which provides a wide range of future options.

Entry requirements

Students who don’t achieve a grade 4 or equivalent in GCSE English and maths must continue to study them in the 6th form.
