The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, special effects, hair and Media Make-up is a VRQ qualification for those who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist, providing hair and make-up services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic industries. The units are: • Fashion & Photographic Make Up • Anatomy and Physiology for Make-Up services • Apply Airbrush Make Up to the Face • Cosmetic Make-Up science • Media Make Up • Style and Fit Postiche • Camouflage Make Up • Monitor & Maintain Health and Safety in the Salon • Client Care & Communication in Beauty Related Industries. • Apply Prosthetic Pieces & Bald Caps There will also be two additional units: - Create an Image Based on a Theme - Style & Dress Hair Using a Variety of Techniques Enrichment: The course also includes enrichment opportunities (additional to your qualification) to enhance employability skills and meet industry trends. This includes workshops from industry specialists. Work experience is a compulsory element of the course to give you a realistic experience of working in the industry alongside your studies. Uniform & Kits: You will be required to wear a uniform for every practical lesson, forms for these will be given to you at enrolment. You will require 2 kits to complete your practical work, forms for these will be given to you at enrolment.
You will need to achieve 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. Art, Science and History may also be beneficial.
Practical assessments for each practical unit and end of unit tests.
