What is EPQ? Extended Project is a 5000 – 6000 word project in the form of a dissertation. A dissertation involves reviewing people’s research, evaluating their work by analyzing the strengths and weaknesses as well and finding evidence to support the author’s argument. You will choose a question of your choice that you would like to investigate. The question needs to be something you’re interested in and something that allows you to look at multiple arguments. During the course you will; • Identify, design, plan and complete an individual project applying organizational skills and strategies to meet stated objectives; • Obtain and select information from a range of sources, analyze data, apply relevantly and demonstrate understanding of any appropriate linkages, connections and complexities of the topic; • Select and use a range of skills to solve problems, make decisions critically, creatively and flexibly, and achieve planned outcomes; • Evaluate outcomes including own learning and performance and select and use a range of communication skills to convey and present evidenced outcomes and conclusions
As well as this you can achieve up to a maximum of 28 UCAS points.
