A Level Physical Education involves a range of physical education theory and practice that covers a range of different areas across the subject. You will undertake theory and practical based sessions with a focus on the following subjects: sport and society, sports physiology, sports psychology, skill acquisition and biomechanics. The course allows you to apply knowledge of the physical, technical, tactical and behavioural aspects of your sport and apply it to a study of your choice.
At least six GCSEs at grade 5 or above in a good range of subjects, including both English and Mathematics. Additional entry requirements for this course are: A minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE Science. A genuine interest in sport is essential and applicants must compete or perform in at least one team sport or physical activity at club or school level as a minimum.
A Levels are assessed via external examination.
