History is inescapable, it connects things through time. All people are living histories. Understanding the linkages between past and present is absolutely basic for a good understanding of the condition of being human. That, in a nutshell, is why history matters. It is not just ‘useful’, it is essential. WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? • The Tudors: England 1485-1603 • Democracy and Nazism: Germany 1918-1945 • Civil Rights in the USA: 1877- 1980 (historical investigation topic) Our A-level History course will enable you to develop useful skills in critical thinking, evaluation, analysis and interpretation. It is a qualification with currency which is valued both in higher education and employment.
