This course focuses on a range of skills and knowledge to prepare you for an apprenticeship or further education at university. WHAT WILL YOU STUDY? • Health and safety • Hot metal processes • Machining techniques • Welding technology • Fabrication • Mathematics for engineering technicians • Mechanical principals and applications • Drawing techniques including CAD A wide range of university degree courses such as mechanical engineering, systems engineering, automotive engineering and an apprenticeship in an engineering firm or the armed forces.
Students who don’t achieve a grade 4 or equivalent in GCSE English and maths must continue to study them in the 6th form.
