If you’re good with numbers and want a career in the accounting/finance sector then this A Level course pathway could be for you. Finance skills and expertise are in demand. Every business needs to balance the books, submit their taxes and pay staff and suppliers. Whether you go straight into employment - for example, as a finance officer or accounts clerk - or want the skills and confidence to begin further training, a rewarding career starts here. This is a two year, triple A Level course for students who wish to pursue a career in accounting or in another area of the financial sector. The A Level in Business will cover a variety of topics including: Managers, leadership and decision making; decision making to improve financial performance; decision making to improving marketing performance; decision making to improve human resource performance; analysing the strategic position of a business; managing strategic change; choosing strategic direction.
Students will need a grade 6 in English Language and Grade 5 in maths. Students will need to be hardworking, determined, resilient and conscientious with a genuine interest in accounting and finance.
All of the A Levels are assessed by external examinations at the end of the course. Business has three two hour examinations.
