You will get many opportunities to take part in overseas residential trips, projects, fundraising, volunteering, and charity work. This will develop your skills, confidence, and personal development. In the first year of the course, you will complete the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Health & Social Care which is equivalent to one A level, the second year you will study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care, which is equivalent to a further two A Levels.
You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths & English Language. If you wish to study any form of nursing or paramedic science you will also require a grade 4 or above in Science. You will need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and provide two satisfactory references. Progressing learners from the Level 2 Health & Social Care program will require a minimum 'Merit Merit' grade profile and have achieved GCSEs in English Language and Maths at grade 4.
You will be assessed both internally via assignments, group work and presentations, and externally by exams. Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass.
