Further Mathematics is essential for many higher education courses and careers. This course has been designed alongside deliverers of higher education to ensure it gives students the best possible chance to progress and realise their potential. This will stretch and challenge even the most able mathematicians to prepare for a career in the STEM subject areas. Students will also build skills in mathematical thinking, reasoning and communication. How will this subject be delivered? Further Mathematics is taught through theoretical lessons. Students will develop their problem solving and analytical skills as the course develops.
Minimum grade 7 at GCSE Mathematics.
Assessment is by 3 exams, each 2 hours long. (100 marks each. Equal weighting to final mark.) Paper 1: All core content. Paper 2: All core content. Paper 3: Optional discrete and statistics content.
