Sociology

Course summary

Anyone with an interest in society, the family, education, criminology, and the role of religion in society. You will study many aspects of contemporary society including socialization, culture, and identity. You will study the education system including policy and patterns of achievement. You will then go on to look at the role of the family in modern British society, and the role of religion in Western society looking specifically at fundamentalism. Finally, you will learn about crime, deviance, and reasons why someone turns to crime.
