This course is particularly aimed at students who are looking to progress into sports employment. You will need to combine with two other programmes to form a full programme of study for Level 3. Students will learn how body systems work and how body systems respond and adapt to exercise, there is opportunity to analyse sports performance, plan nutrition and fitness programmes, and finally look further into employment opportunities and career progression in the Sport Industry. You will develop the ability to question and research associated topics and will be able to access support both within and outside the College environment There are four units to complete and you must pass all units. You will have the opportunity of resit external assessments once only. Year One • Anatomy and Physiology (External Assessment). • Practical Sports Performance (Internal Assessments). Year Two • Fitness Training and Programme (External Assessment). • Professional Development in the Sports Industry (Internal Assignments).
• Grade 4 or C in GCSE English. • Grade 4 or C in GCSE Mathematics. • Grade 4 or C in GCSE Science or BTEC First/Certificate/Diploma in a related subject with Merit, or above, or equivalent. • You will also need to have a keen interest in sport and playing sport.
