Art and Design (Fine Art)

Course summary

Art and Design offers you an exciting opportunity to develop new skills and a deeper understanding of Art. You will study contemporary and historical Art whilst you build a large portfolio of artwork towards a theme. Your portfolio will demonstrate your ability to experiment with a wide range of processes and techniques from drawing and painting to 3D, performance, new media and photography. You will demonstrate refinement of your skills and your ability to produce a final outcome for your project. You may wish to go on to study for a degree in Art, Craft, Design or work in one of the other creative industries such as advertising, marketing, architecture, publishing and the media. Alongside specialist art skills you will develop independence, creativity, presentation and research skills which are transferable to all other parts of your life and future careers.
