Course summary

George Orwell said “The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their understanding of their history. ”This is why you should study history for it defines who we are as a people, it teaches us to question and refine that received inheritance and it equips us with the ability to understand our ever more complex world. Studying history is integral to a good understanding of what it is to be human. Why do we go to war? Why do we order society in the way we do? Why do we believe the things we do?
