Course summary

Equivalent to 3 A Levels. 13 units studied in total. 9 are internally assessed via coursework 4 units are external examinations. Work Experience is a compulsory part of the extended diploma. Topics studied include Human lifespan development, Working in Health and Social Care, Caring for individuals with additional needs, Physiological disorders, Public health and Nutrition. Students also develop transferable skills such as communication, research and analysis. The course offers clear progression routes into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
