For you if you wish to nurture your creative flair with music technology. Developing your skills and encouraging your creativity is one of the priorities of the course to allow you to develop as a producer. Units include: • remixing and reworking • commercial music production • music and sound for media • mixing and mastering techniques • DAW production This course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to produce, mix and master music whether you want to help realise another artist’s vision or create your very own. You will study a range of units that will challenge you and the way you think about sound. This will include film score composition, remixing and reworking tracks, audio recording in and outside of a studio as well as learning about the industry as a whole. Digital music is massive and there are lots of progression opportunities. You will learn a wide range of practical skills and techniques within both the studio as well as develop theoretical knowledge surrounding recording techniques.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language. No formal music qualifications are needed, however if taken, a merit in Level 2 music is required.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
