Course summary

We have a long established reputation for providing the study of a wide range of technology / engineering disciplines to high standards. Our Colleges offer a wide range of facilities and resources to the student, many of which have been upgraded and are some of the very best of their type in the area. Students are fully supported in every aspect of their studies as well as providing the opportunity for course enrichment and pastoral care. The Colleges have strong links with local technology companies and organisations and can guide the student towards their chosen career path. The Colleges are fully committed to the needs of the student and are able to offer the technology of tomorrow, today. This course is delivered as two qualifications, each a year long (usually a national or 90 credit diploma in Year 1 and the extended diploma in Year 2). Students who are 18 years old when they start Year 1 will therefore be 19 at the start of Year 2 and may be subject to fees for the Year 2 qualification. All learners will need to successfully complete the Year 1 qualification to be able to progress to the Year 2 qualification.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English, Mathematics and Science. For progressing students, you will need to have achieved a Level 2 qualification in Engineering (Diploma or Extended Certificate) at Pass or above, as well as GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
