Course summary

Business is one of the most useful subjects you can study at college. The average person spends roughly 45 years in employment so having an understanding of the business world is vital. This course provides an insight into how businesses operate; examining those involved in running a business, how they are organised and financed and the importance of effective business communication. This one year, 1 1/2 A Level equivalent programme is a practical, work-related course where the assessment is based on investigating real life businesses. You will have to research different companies using a variety of methods, such as the internet, or conducting interviews with business owners. This programme is designed as a top-up for A level students or students requiring a 1 year level 3 programme. You will study a range of units which include Exploring Business, Managing an Event, Investigating Customer Service, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal & Business Finance and Creative Promotion. The course aims to equip you with skills to succeed in employment or to progress to a degree level course either at Warwickshire College or other University to study a business related qualification.
