Course summary

The Spanish language and the culture of Hispanic countries has never been so popular! The music, dance, art and history of Spain are renowned the world over and with over 350 million native speakers, it is the third most widely spoken language in the world – giving you plenty of people with which to communicate! As the native language of most Latin American countries and with its increasing importance in the USA, Spanish language skills are in high demand amongst businesses looking to develop their export markets. Universities appreciate the range of skills developed through the study of a language and look favourably upon applicants with an A Level in a foreign language. A-level Spanish helps you to develop confident, effective communication skills in Spanish and a thorough understanding of the culture of countries and communities where Spanish is spoken. It develops your existing interest in, and enthusiasm for, language learning and encourages you to consider the Spanish in a broader context.
