Course summary

For those who wish to achieve a higher grade in their Maths GCSE. A good pass (grade 4 or 5) will be hugely valuable in terms of progression opportunities. Units include: • number • ratio and proportion • algebra • geometry and measures • probability and statistics. You will have a basic knowledge of mathematics, which you will build on during the one-year GCSE course. The course requires you to use a scientific calculator, as two out of the three exams allow the use of a calculator. Gaining a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths is essential for many progression opportunities into higher education, employment and apprenticeships. While it may not be your choice to study GCSE Maths again, leaving College with a good GCSE pass will be hugely valuable in terms of your future education and career aspirations.
