For you if you want to work in the health and fitness sector and specifically want to develop your ability to work with clients on a one-on-one basis. This course teaches you to plan and deliver exercise sessions, as well as giving nutritional advice to help clients reach their goals. Units include: • anatomy physiology and kinesiology for exercise and health • applying nutritional principles to personal training • business acumen and the use of information technology for a personal trainer • programme design for personal training clients. You will develop interpersonal, written and practical delivery skills as well as having time to develop your own physique in order to be ready to work in the industry. This qualification is desired by the fitness industry, so you can work as a Personal Trainer once qualified after a year. There will be opportunities to undertake work experience to learn from working PTs and develop your employability and are encouraged to complete a first aid qualification.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language. You must have already completed the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness to study this course.
Assessments will comprise 60% personal investigation and 40% externally set practical exam. Your coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated.
