Course summary

This qualification is for you if you wish to work as an electrician in the building services industry. It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress as a step towards becoming a competent electrician. Units include: • health and safety and industry practices • principles of electrical science • electrical installation technologies • installing and wiring systems and enclosures • communication skills. You will complete 30 hours of work experience within the industry, as well as taking part in college-based projects and being encouraged and supported to take part in both local and national competitions. Trips to trade shows, manufacturers and visits from industry specialists are also included in the course.
