This programme is an ideal progression route from Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care and gives you the support to build your knowledge and understanding of the health and care sector. Units include: • equality, diversity and rights • human growth and development • safeguarding and protection • communication • infection prevention and control • psychological perspectives • sociological perspectives • working in health and social care. You will spend time in a variety of health and social care settings and gain experience with a range of age groups and abilities. You will have an opportunity to run projects involving the local community, building your skills and knowledge of local care services. You could take part in a residential trip such as Disneyland Paris, alongside other excursions, which include the simulation suite at the University of Portsmouth. You will also be encouraged to participate in National Health Service and charitable campaigns raising awareness amongst fellow students.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English.
You will need to complete an assignment for the majority of units, which will be assessed and graded. You will regularly review your work with your tutor and receive feedback on your progress.
