Course summary

The EPQ course offers students a fantastic opportunity to extend their learning beyond their chosen courses of study and to develop a variety of skills, whilst either researching an area of personal interest or discovering something new. During the course, students will develop their planning, organisational, problem-solving and research skills through a mixture of taught and independent learning. The taught element supports students in critically selecting source material, analysing and applying data, and evaluating outcomes, whilst also developing their written and oral communication skills.

Entry requirements

Students must have achieved grade 5 or above in their English Language GCSE.

How you'll be assessed

Students are assessed on the production of a written report based on the aims and outcomes of their chosen area. The written report can accompany an artefact and will be assessed alongside a production log, which details the process they have followed and the advice provided by their project supervisor, as well as through a final presentation of their work.
