How you'll be assessed

Throughout the duration of the two year course students prepare for three examination units and 1 Personal Study which is internally assessed and externally moderated. Students are well prepared for the examination units; core skills and success criteria are embedded into lessons, allowing students to build and develop exam confidence throughout the duration of their course. For all units of study students can expect an amount of set reading. Students are also expected to engage independently in wider reading and research around the topics, which is an essential part of developing knowledge and contextual understanding of the historical issues studied. History is a highly literate subject, so students can also expect to engage frequently with written tasks, whether it be note taking or preparing exam style essays or analysis.
