A level history is a demanding yet rewarding course that sees students study the past in a variety of different ways, whether it be collaboratively, independently, in the form of a debate, or in presentations to peers. Students will look at a range of source material and critically evaluate interpretations of the past to build up their views of some of the most interesting and contentious events.
5 GCSEs in grades 4-9 including English. Although not essential, having studied History at GCSE would be advantageous.
England 1547-1603: The Later Tudors (Enquiry topic: Mid Tudor Crises 1547–1558) - 25% of total mark. Democracy and Dictatorships in Germany 1919-1963 - 15% of total mark. Russia and its Rulers 1855-1964 - 40% of the total mark. Topic-based essay - 20% of the total mark.
