Course summary

A Level sociology allows students to develop their sociological imagination. Through the analysis of sociological perspectives students gain an understanding of how social structures affect our everyday lives. Students develop critical thinking by applying such ideas to their own experiences of life so far. They will be encouraged to debate and argue while using sociological evidence to support their points on classic arguments such as does the media cause violent behaviour, is feminism still needed in contemporary society or is sociology a science.
