Brooksby Campus has a wide range of habitats and a diversity of land uses, which are ideally suited for environmental study. This course provides a hands-on route into the world of environmental science, coupling theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the field, taking full advantage of our 850-acre estate. Year 1 Modules include Professional Working Responsibilities; Plant and Soil Science; Work Experience; Countryside Estate Skills; Managing Environmental Habitats; Planting and Care of Trees; and Freshwater and Wetland Management. Year 2 Modules include Contemporary Issues; Woodland Management; Wildlife conservation and Management; Countryside Recreation; Managing Countryside Visitor Activities; Applied Ecology; Ecological Concepts; and Physical Biological Environmental Processes.
5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English, or Level 2 Countryside Management (or similar) and Level 1 Functional Skills. If you miss the English and/or Maths requirements of your course, don't worry. there are options to study these alongside your course.
