How you'll be assessed

The course is made up of different modules, which are assessed in a variety of ways. Some are assessed by completing assignments, which are set and marked internally by your tutors. This coursework is assessed against Pass, Merit, Distinction and Distinction* criteria to determine an overall grade for each unit. Some units are assessed by means of an externally-set examination. Other units are assessed through completion of an externally-set project. This makes this an appealing course for students who may struggle with exam pressure. It also leads to students gaining parts of their final marks across the two years, rather than just in exams at the very end.
