Pearson (Edexcel) BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate (equivalent of one A-level) takes a multidisciplinary approach, encouraging development of different methods of enquiry, with the focal point being the performer and the performance. The specification is based on developing key skills for future careers in the sporting industry – such as sports nutritionist, physiotherapist, sport psychologist and personal trainer. Students will develop knowledge of anatomy and physiology, fitness training and programming, professional development in the sports industry and the psychology of sport.
- GCSE grade 5 or Btec Merit if studied at GCSE level. Students will also have demonstrated a strong commitment to PE/Sport at KS4. - Five GCSEs at grade 9-5/A*-C, including English and Maths will be required
