Successful completion of the course will allow you to progress to university. If you have UCAS points and require a top-up to progress to university, this course can be completed within one year. You will delve into the world of IT by gaining an understanding of website development, how businesses utilise social media and how the rise of mobile apps is supporting the IT industry. There will be several specialist guest speakers from the industry that will provide you with a detailed insight into the sector. There will be work-related activities to help you gain experience through realistic working environments. You will have access to resources relating to your course through the college's Virtual Learning Environment.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs with the following grades: English and maths at 4 or above and 3 other GCSEs at 4 or above. If you have an EHCP then please be aware that the college needs to have agreed, via the consultation period with your local authority, that we can meet the needs outlined in your EHCP before you can start on a course with us.
Students will be assessed through written exams (externally set), controlled assessments (externally set), observations, group presentations, practicals, written assignments and group activities.
