Course summary

You will study a variety of topics which will help you to develop a general understanding of health and science: working within the health and science sector health, safety and environmental regulations managing information and data principles of good scientific and clinical practice core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology and immunology. You will also learn about topics specific to health including understanding the healthcare sector providing person-centered care supporting health and well-being further knowledge of both human anatomy and physiology and of diseases and disorders infection prevention and control. In addition to the core content you will have an option to specialise in one of the following specialisms: supporting Healthcare supporting the adult nursing team supporting the care of children and young people. You'll have the industry knowledge and experience to progress into roles like: Ambulance Support worker Healthcare support worker in a health setting Health Care Assistant Senior healthcare support worker in a health setting Speak to your careers adviser to find out more. You can also use this T Level to progress to a related higher-level apprenticeship or course of study at a higher level, including a university degree.

Entry requirements

- 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above to include English Language, Maths and Science. - For students progressing from Level 2 Transition: Pass in Level 2 Transition, English Language, Maths, and Science at Grade 4. - For students progressing from other Level 2: Grade B or Merit, English Language, maths, and Science at Grade 4. Applicants and progressing students will also need to provide a positive school/college reference with excellent levels of attendance and punctuality.

How you'll be assessed

You will be assessed by completing an employer set project and a project on your specialist subject. You'll have time to research and complete tasks. There'll also be 2 exams. You'll work with your tutor to decide when you're ready to be assessed.
