The Beauty Therapy T Level is an innovative programme designed to prepare students for a successful career in beauty therapy. You will embark on a two-year journey that combines classroom-based learning with industry placements, providing you with a well-rounded education and invaluable hands-on experience. Throughout the programme, you will develop a strong foundation in fundamental beauty therapy techniques, including manicure, pedicure, tinting, waxing, facials, massage, and electrical facial and body therapy. Additionally, you will gain a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, client consultation, salon management, health and safety practices, and the latest trends and technologies shaping the beauty therapy industry. The Beauty Therapy T Level offers a holistic approach, equipping you with not only the technical skills but also the employability skills necessary to thrive in a professional salon environment. T Levels are designed to provide a technical alternative to A Levels and are developed in collaboration with employers, ensuring that courses meet industry demands and equip students with the precise skills valued by employers in specific sectors. These two-year courses are equivalent to three A Levels, illustrating the depth of learning involved. One of the distinguishing features of T Levels is the minimum 45-day industry placement, allowing students to gain practical experience and develop essential employability skills. With their unique blend of classroom learning and on-the-job experience, T Levels offer students a clear pathway to rewarding careers in their chosen fields. You’ll receive guidance from qualified tutors, with impressive industry careers, who will support you through your course and work experience. You’ll improve your knowledge and skills and gain hands-on experience in the College's industry-standard commercial salon. This practical training will familiarise you with a salon environment and allow you to refine your abilities. The programme also emphasises personal and social development, as well as English and maths skills. We pride ourselves on our strong partnerships with local salons and organisations. You'll become part of our Hair & Beauty Career Excellence Hub and enjoy a host of career-boosting benefits and unrivalled access to potential employers. You will benefit from work experience opportunities, salon visits, masterclasses from industry experts and courses designed in collaboration with employers to meet industry demands. You'll gain invaluable industry insight and create numerous networking opportunities. By the time you complete your training, you'll be fully prepared to take the next steps towards your future career, armed with the skills and knowledge that employers value.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and maths. Learners can also gain entry to the programme through the completion of the Level 2 Transition to T Level in Health. You will be required to purchase a kit and a uniform; these will be available from the college shop.
You will be assessed through assignment work, case studies, presentations, examinations and final practical examinations.
