Completing A-Level Psychology will provide students with a depth of knowledge in some exciting areas in this field. Throughout the two years, students will develop a wealth of understanding of human behavior, covering topics including forensic psychology, Memory, and Psychopathology. Students will base their knowledge around the 6 main schools in Psychology, drawing conclusions to research and experiments carried out. Core units include Research Methods and Biopsychology, supporting the key aspect of ‘Psychology as a Science’
The standard entry criteria to study in the sixth form are a 9-4 in at least seven different subjects, including English and mathematics, which would usually be at grade 4 or above. For some A-levels with a high mathematical content (particularly computing, chemistry, and physics) GCSE at grade 6 in mathematics is also required. You are also required to achieve a Grade 6 or above in GCSE biology.
