The A Level course in German centres on effective communication (both spoken and written), as well as giving students an insight into the culture and traditions of the German Speaking countries. Students studying German at The Henley College are exclusively taught by native speaker teachers and in the second year have additional time for speaking practice with the language assistant. One lesson per week will take place in the language laboratory in order to enhance listening comprehension skills, as well as allowing students to research cultural topics or current affairs issues relating to Germany (or German speaking countries).
• To study an A Level programme you should achieve at least grade 4 in GCSE English Language and Maths, plus 2 grade 5s and 4 grade 4s from your remaining 6 best subjects. • Standard entry requirements, plus Grade 5 in GCSE German or a similar level of competence.
