Study the 'ins and outs' of Computer Systems focussing on the development of strong computational, algorithmic, and problem-solving skills. You will study everything from the impact of smart devices you use every day, to advancements in quantum computing. You will also develop your independent programming skills to create advanced systems from the ground up. Component 1: Programming and System Development You will investigate programs, data structures, algorithms, logic, programming methodologies and the impact of Computer Science on Society. Component 2: Computer Architecture, Data and Communication and Applications You will investigate computer architecture, communication, binary number systems, organisation and structure of data, programs, algorithms and software applications. Component 3: Programmed Solution to a Problem In this component, you will discuss, investigate, design, prototype, refine and implement, test and evaluate a computerised solution to a problem chosen by you, which must be solved by programming.
